You have found the one. Now we make sure it is right for both of you, because the next home this dog goes to needs to be the last one.
How Adoption Works
Most adoptions take one to two weeks from application to homecoming.

Application
The form below. It is detailed on purpose, and takes about ten minutes.

Conversation
A phone call to talk through your answers, your routine, and this dog’s specific needs. We check vet and landlord references here.

Meet and Home Check
You meet the dog, with everyone who lives with you and any resident dogs. We also walk through your home, in person or over video.

Homecoming
You sign the adoption agreement, pay the fee, and take them home. We check in afterwards, and stay reachable for life.
Before you apply
What We Ask of You
These are firm. They exist because every one of them has, at some point, been the reason a dog came back.
- You are 21 or over, and everyone in the household agrees to the adoption
- If you rent, your landlord permits dogs, and we will verify it
- Any current pets are vaccinated and spayed or neutered
- The dog lives indoors with you, not in a yard, garage, or kennel
- You can meet the dog in person before adopting
- You will return the dog to us if it ever does not work out, rather than rehoming or surrendering them elsewhere

What You Get
Every dog leaves us ready, and honestly described.
- Spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for fleas and worms. For puppies too young to be altered, we collect a $300 deposit and refund it in full once we receive proof of their spay or neuter
- A full, unedited account of their health, history, and behaviour, including the difficult parts
- Everything their foster learned about their routine, quirks, and triggers
- Advice and support for as long as you have them
- A rescue that will always take them back, no questions and no judgement
Adoption fees go straight back into pulling the next dog out of a Southern California shelter.
Adoption Application
Around ten minutes, in five short steps. We ask a lot because these dogs have already lost one home, and we intend this to be their last. An application is not a commitment, and a thorough answer is always better than a tidy one.
